Bafang BBS02 South Island Adventure Part 1: Preparation

Winter 2017 and I get to go out Mountain Biking on my Bafang BBS02 powered MTB. I'll be riding some of the amazing trails on New Zealand's South Island. I'll be taking on rugged trails out in the Wilderness including the Heaphy Track, the Kill Devil and hopefully the Old Ghost Road. Before I go I need to do some special preparations.

Starting with the fantastic Raglan Electric Bikes Bafang BBS02 equipped Nukeproof I've made some modifications. I've wired a second 17.5Ah battery in parallel to give me 35Ah total capacity.

To charge this I've programmed the power-dense and very flexible Grin Satiator charger to charge at 7Amps. This means I'll only need 5 hours to charge from empty to full.

Finally using the knowledge gained from taming cow pat spatter on our Fatbike (BBS02 Surly Wednesday) I've gone to town with guards. This will keep me and the bike clean and dry. Always a good thing.
